Provincial and Regency Bappeda Amazed by Development of Jakarta

As many as 26 provincial and regency regional development planning boards (Bappeda) from Sumatra, Java, and Bali, visited the Jakarta Project Site for the Phase 2 Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project and the Centrale Stichting Wederopbouw (CSW) Integration Stop-ASEAN, Tuesday (9/27). The visit was attended by 50 participants using Transjakarta Bus transportation from front of the Jakarta City Hall Building.

Jakarta Bappeda Vice Head, Tri Indrawan explained that the visit was still part of a series of activities for Jakarta Innovation Days. The event, which will be held until Wednesday (9/28) is aimed to unite perceptions and share together thus innovation in each region can be realized.

"In realizing innovation, it must be done together for better results. Certainly, this is a forum for sharing and providing information on how to implement it," he said.

Through this visit, he explained that the development in Jakarta could be informed directly to the 50 Bappeda representatives who were present to be applied following the conditions of their respective regions.

"We are here to share information and support each other, so development in each area can be published and realized," he explained.

Aceh Bappenda Representative, Marta Nazer uttered that she was amazed by the current development of Jakarta, starting from Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), Centrale Stichting Wederopbouw (CSW) integration, Tebet Eco Park, and Jakarta International Stadium (JIS)

"I was last to Jakarta in 2018. It turns out that now there are a lot of changes and progress," she added.

She also assessed that mass transportation facilities in Jakarta are very comfortable, safe, easy, and orderly. Hopefully, it could be applied in Aceh.

"If it can be implemented in the regions like this, the Indonesian people's welfare will be realized more quickly. The implementation of an orderly queue, cleanliness, and ease of public transportation is exemplary and we will try to implement it in Aceh soon," she explained.

Admiration for public transportation services in Jakarta also came from the West Sumatra Bappeda representative, Violla Aristha. According to her, public transportation such as Transjakarta, Mikrotrans Jaklingko, and MRT to LRT has provided a sense of justice for all people.

"Despite I'm not a resident of Jakarta, I'm very proud to see the current development of Jakarta. We're going to try to develop innovations in Jakarta as well in West Sumatra," she closed.
